If you haven’t been to Big Movies for Little Kids, this is a really fun event to do. Two moms program these monthly great events and they know their kid films. They select not just kids’ films but film classics like Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplan. In the past, Big Movies for Little Kids has only run at the Cobble Hill Cinemas on Mondays but this September they are adding not only a new venue, but a new day and it’s FREE.
The new FREE outdoor series will debut in downtown Brooklyn on the Garden Terrace at Toren Condo, every other Friday evening. Not only is the evening movie free, there will be complimentary snacks, beverages, stroller valet and free parking on site! Keep in mind that the Garden Terrace is, yes, outdoors. Bring plenty of fleece, wool and blankets.
Below is the schedule at both venues in September.
P.S. The series often sells out a lot at the Cobble Hill Cinemas (don’t even bother on a rainy day!) so either buy advance tickets that are available directly at the cinema’s box office (after 1pm daily).
Fall Season Premiere!
Monday, September 20th at 4pm at Cobble Hill Cinemas
Charlie Chaplin’s THE KID
We begin the fall season of Big Movies for Little Kids with Charlie Chaplin’s masterpiece, THE KID. The opening title reads: “A comedy with a smile–and perhaps a tear.” The little Tramp finds a baby (Jackie Coogan) and makes a home in a seamless blend of slapstick and sentiment. (USA; 1921; not rated; black and white; silent with intertitles; 68 minutes.)
Friday, September 24th at 6:30pm at Toren Condo Garden Terrace
SPIRITED AWAY
