Free classes at Drama Desk Winner TADA! Theatre
I am a big fan of TADA! Youth Theatre in the city- they have even won a Drama Desk Award! They dont’ just have productions, they also have classes for Gleeks of all ages. If you have a kid who has a penchant for singing, acting and dancing, their classes address all those performance arts. We took a sample class last spring with my 4 year old. Though initially shy, he jumped right in after 5 minutes of observing the fun the other kids were having. They played imaginary games (riding up the elevator, pushing buttons, and getting out on the “moon floor” or “dragon floor”), learning the TADA! theme song while learning gestures and actually practicing a bit of improv, my son was totally into it. The teachers were incredibly enthusiastic with tons of energy and interest in each of the students. I particularly loved that there was a pianist in the room the whole time, accompanying the kids on their song, and creating mood music for their improv and acting moments.
On September 21 & 22 TADA! will open their doors for an open house. Come take a 30-minute FREE trial class, attend an Information Session about our programming, and register in person.
