My favorite $10 gadget for kids

Raise your hand if you have had one of these problems with your child:

A. Your child won’t get in the stroller

B. Your child won’t hold your hand while crossing the street

C. Your child wanders away from you while walking

If you answer “none” than either you don’t have a walking child yet or you have a perfectly behaved one. Both of which just might change…and if they do, I have a solution for you. The tag*a*long name might sound like something from an infomercial, but it is the most helpful gadget that helps corral my kids at all times.

Here’s what the tag*a*long is: it’s a soft plastic handle that you attach to the side of your stroller. And somehow, that brightly colored piece of plastic is like a homing device. My children look for it to hold onto when they cross the street, walk down a busy sidewalk or just find me and the stroller. And for those times when they refuse to get in the stroller? Somehow by grasping the tag*a*long, all defiance evaporates. They have their own special place that is theirs alone. It’s brilliant!
