Living in Brooklyn, we are so lucky to have numerous classes available to our kids – ranging from music, dance to movement and even Capoeira! But along with all of these exciting classes may sometimes feel as if we have too many choices – making it difficult to decide where exactly our children should go. Many schools realize this and have started to offer free or deeply-discounted courses so that you and kids can actually test out a class before you fork over the big bucks. Here are some trial and demo classes taking place in January so that you can better decide where to take refuge this winter.

Child’s Play NY trial classes
Child’s Play NY is offering free trials just for our readers! They have excellent solid reviews on the Parents Connect.
Tuesday, January 25th: Story Play (ages 5-7): free trial class on 1/25 if you mention “A Child Grows in Brooklyn”
In weekly sessions, children tap into their creativity and intrinsic sense of play. We play theater games that inspire self-expression and build characters that give voice to their unique personalities. Into each class is woven a fable or fairy-tale which the class re-interprets and which spring-boards improvisation. Techniques of acting as well as specific voice and movement work are an integral part of the curriculum. Visual arts, mask, puppetry and costume augment the workshop and support imagination. The classes culminate in a performance of a story on the last day of class.
