Kids bike swap and learn to ride

I bet that most of us can remember learning how to ride a bike- and all those tumbles that got us there. Even though we remember learning, it’s the teaching of it now that preoccupies most of us.  How do you teach your child to ride a bike and where can you do it safely? (without getting a sore back)

Learn to Ride
Adult volunteers and community organizations will lead kids through a variety of fun bike games that teach basic and advance skills necessary for riding at the PS261 event on Saturday, April 2nd.

Need a bike?
BIKE SWAP fee $15 – Allows you to bring your old kids bike in and get a new one from the bikes available.
BIKE PURCHASE $25 – If you do not have a kids bike, this will get you a kids bike that is in working order, from the bikes available.  Mechanics will be on hand to make sure that it is working and ready to go.
BIKE DONATION – Bring in your old kids bike, and we will give it some TLC
and a new rider.

And what else?
Hang around for bike games, “learn to ride” clinics, and other bike-oriented fun at the Bike Rodeo. Community information, helmet fit check, maps, and introductions to street and city riding from NYC organizations that want to get you and your child outside, on a bike and having fun!

Details: Saturday April 2nd 10am – 2pm at PS261 – 314 Pacific Street between Hoyt and Smith*
