Open Swim with open house (at my fav Brooklyn pool)

LIU's pool- quiet and clean: pretty ideal in my book

I don’t usually write about open houses at summer camps, but these at LIU Children’s Academy incorporate “open swims” in my favorite Brooklyn pool, so I couldn’t resist.

Long Island University has a gorgeous pool where we take swimming lessons with Imagine Swimming (see reviews here and here).  These summer camp open houses present the perfect opportunity to enjoy swimming in a well-maintained pool kept at a manageable 82 degrees.  And for the open houses? This July and August, Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus will host its second year of summer camp for kids ages 3-12 and they want you to learn more about their programs.

The LIU Children’s Academy 2011 Summer Camp has (3) two-week sessions starting July 5 – August 12  (Session I: July 5-15; Session II: July 18-29; Session III: August 1-12)

Activities will be held in facilities and outdoor spaces across the 11-acre campus, including the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center. Academic workshops, including classes in game development, robotics and foreign languages will be complemented by creative programs such as movie-making, fashion design, digital photography, ceramics, modern dance and ballet.  Athletic activities  will include swimming, soccer, baseball, softball and basketball.

Open houses: Saturday March 26,  11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
