Joyce Szuflita, of NYC School Help, is our School Expert, and always has the scoop on what’s going on with schools. She is doing her informative “Intro to Nursery School” talk in mid-April and her “Intro to Public Schools” talk in late April. If the terms unzoned, district-wide, city-wide and gifted and talented cause you to start to twitch- Joyce can help set you right. If you want to understand the differences between charter, magnet and dual language schools- she can make it clear. If you want to know what to look for and ask for in a school- Joyce has wonderful insight.
Joyce doesn’t discuss individual schools at these talks, so don’t go with a list of schools you want her opinion on. She always does a lot of Q and A so you get to hear what other parents know, their concerns and glean even more from your peers.
