Earth Day is coming up on Friday and it’s an especially great time to educate our children in what they can do to protect the planet.
Are there any toys that they no longer play with? Given the nature of plastic, these toys often show little signs of wear and are still in good working condition. When these perfectly useable toys are thrown out, they become waste in a landfill, take up a lot of space and do not biodegrade.
We have the opportunity to teach children the benefit of helping the planet while at the same time helping those less fortunate.
Take a look in the toy chest together- just think of how donating just one toy can make a difference!
The New York Kids Club, in partnership with Second Chance Toys, will be hosting a toy drive Wednesday, April 20th thru Tuesday, April 26th at each of their six locations. Second Chance Toys is a community-based initiative that rescues unwanted plastic toys that are gently used and distributes them to children in need through local community organizations.
