It's My Park Day at Brower Park in Crown Heights last weekend.
As parents we look for ways to teach our kids about being responsible community members. This weekend you can do all of that and have fun by giving back to our parks! This weekend is “It’s My Park Day” where thousands of New Yorkers volunteer and celebrate their neighborhood parks throughout the five boroughs. It’s a wonderful way to support your community, meet your neighbors and teach your children about volunteering. Choose your nearest park or a project that interests you. The beautification projects include doing cleaning, planting and painting.
In Brooklyn, Kaiser Park there is an especially kid-friendly “It’s My Park Day” where you can paint park benches and lamp poles, help clean up the shoreline and then participate in celebratory activities afterward including face painting, music and dance performances, softball games, a yoga class and much more.
I have listed all the Brooklyn “It’s My Park Days” that I found listed on the Partnerships for Parks’ website, but funny enough, Kaiser Park didn’t show up, so check to see if your local park is participating via a search on their site.

It’s My Park Day at Kaiser Park 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
On It’s My Park Day, join the Friends of Kaiser Park to help with painting projects, a beach clean up, and other beautification projects at Kaiser Park. The fun kicks off at 10:00 a.m. on 30th Street and Neptune Avenue. There will be a talent show and Pakistani music and dance performances. Health information, softball games and a yoga clinic are the many other activities to enjoy that day.
