Two Mom Expos full of seminars and demos

For expecting moms, this week is a bonanza of new mom expos with both the New Mamas Expo in Queens and the Mommybites Summit in Manhattan. Even if you aren’t expecting, the MommyBites Summit is worth attending since you can attend any 8 seminars that can help you with everything from toddler to life issues.

Here’s the info:

Queens New Mamas Expo
The New Mamas Expo, Queen’s very first Prenatal and Newborn Event will provide moms an afternoon of learning and meeting with other local moms, and will feature product demos of the newest baby and kids products, prenatal tips and tools, gift bags and free giveaways.   Kids and toddlers are welcome to attend as well (for free), and there will be plenty of snacks, light refreshments and entertainment.

Here’s what you can do: watch product demos of the newest in strollers and carriers, shop for new baby clothing, suss out new mommy and me classes and catch more demos on cloth diapering, baby care basics, CPR and more.  If you have older kids, they can check out a concert from Moon Soup too. I am taking my whole family so we can get a refresher CPR demo by Tribeca Parenting and check in with fabulous baby store in Williamsburg, Caribou Baby.

Mommybites Summit
Whether you are expecting a baby or are already a parent of a baby, toddler or kid, you can find something of value at the Mommybites Summit. Interested in spicing up your sex life? (um, yes!), balancing it all as a mom (please!) or learning how NOT to scream at your kids (*sigh*), then you will be interested in one of their eight seminars.  Babybites, an educational and social group for moms and moms-to-be in both Manhattan and Brooklyn, call their  Mommybites Summit “the Ultimate Moms Night Out.” The Ultimate Night Out includes raffles prizes, great gift bags, socializing with other parents, shopping and your choice of any (and all) of the seminar topics.

Though the Summit is a long haul for us Brooklynites (Columbia University campus), our readers get a HALF PRICE COMMUTERS SPECIAL on the ticket price (AND BRING A FRIEND FOR FREE!) so you might use that extra savings to treat yourself to a taxi home! The cost of the ticket includes wine and light fare as well as access to all seminars, entry into raffles and gift bags.

Hope to see you there- I will be attending all the seminars I can- most notably the “The Modern Moms Guide to Balance.” I also want to sneak into the Dad’s Panel to hear what they have to say.
