Remember way back when in 2008 when Fulton Mall proposed a 17,000 square foot pedestrian plaza? Well, it’s actually opening this Friday with events and music for kids.
The celebration of Albee Square Public Plaza (at Bond & Fulton Streets) will begin with performances by popular local children’s groups Audra Rox and Dog on Fleas, sponsored by Cookies Kids Department Store. In the afternoon, Brooklyn-based bands will perform, including the Blue Vipers of Brooklyn, Bloco Gumbo, Underground Horns, and Red Hook Ramblers. Free light refreshments will be provided from 10:00am to 12:00pm, and face painters will be in the square 10:00am to 3:00pm. The event is free and open to the public.
