Families First has been in transition ever since its tireless Director left a couple of years ago. As a non-profit organization that offers everything from classes for children ages 0-7, playspace, workshops for parents and a very popular preschool/parent-child program, its a much-needed resource for BoCoCa families.
In what seems like it could be great news for those families, Families First Brooklyn announced today that it has selected Paula Heitman as its new executive director. A local Cobble Hill resident and mom, Paula comes from The Warren Street Center for Children and Families, a school environment for children ages 2-5 years old. Prior to her time there, Paula was executive director and a teacher for The Town School. She has also served as a director and teacher for East Side Community High School and TADA! Theatre.
It looks like their website is also getting a much-needed facelift too. Nice to see them moving ahead on both fronts!
