Are you one of the 1.3 million New Yorkers who don’t get paid leave? What happens when one of your kids is sick and you have to stay home? Have you lost a day of pay or, worse, had to send your ill child to school/daycare because you couldn’t afford to stay home?
The New York City Paid Sick Leave Act would require employers in the City to provide paid sick days.
There are a couple of things you can do to get the Act passed.
- Send an eletter to the mayor. It’s fast and effective. It took me about 11 seconds to do.
- Join local parents , A Better Balance and the New York Paid Sick Leave Coalition, at a rally to support the Paid Sick Leave Act. Show up, share your story and work with other like-minded parents to get this legislation passed! There will be arts and crafts, facepainting, music (Slavic Soul Party) and the speak- out for those willing to share their stories.
