Admissions Talk by Inside Schools’ Founder

Did you know that in some city districts, kids are assigned to their school, and in others, kids must apply? All kids must apply to high school.  Carefully consider your options because once you accept a placement- it’s difficult to transfer.

The advice above is paraphrased from Insideschools, the guide and blog about  New York City public schools. The site is a wealth of information and the managing editor, Pamela Wheaton, will be giving a talk about middle and high school admissions at the Carroll Gardens Library this Tuesday.

Pamela will be discussing admissions policies, application procedures and deadlines, what to look for in a school and how to find the best fit for your child. Parents are encouraged to come with questions.

Details:
Tuesday, October 11, from 6 PM – 8 PM
(6-7 PM will focus on middle schools and 7-8 PM on high schools).
The Carroll Gardens Library is at 396 Clinton Street, at the corner of Union Street.
Admission is free. Hosted by the Friends of the Carroll Gardens Library.
