I dropped by Bija Kids a few weeks ago to host one of our Meetups– and marveled at their new studio design with two open airy spaces that accommodate both yogis and kids. Lauren Maples, the owner of Bija Kids, mentioned that she was considering offering a drop-in playtime for the cold weather- and, she officially announced its existence in an email letter recently. That’s great news for Clinton Hill and Fort Greene parents who are always looking for more options for indoor play space.
Also new- the studio will have a resident acupuncturist who will be holding office hours starting this week. Sarah Mills, of Moon Rabbit Acupuncture, will be introducing herself to the Bija community through two sessions on Pediatric Acupuncture where you can learn the basics of acupuncture’s effectiveness and some calming breathing techniques.
Lastly, they are offering a class called “Yoga Tools for Parents” which will be an afternoon of “yogic tools and techniques to make bedtime a breeze, transform tantrums into smiles in minutes and kick that chronic runny nose for good.” Really? I definitely could use help for points 1 and 2 above! You will also learn how to “incorporate yoga poses, breathing techniques and games into your daily routine for more moments of connection, joy and peace.”
