As a big fan of madcap screwball comedies like “Some Like It Hot”, “Bringing Up Baby” and “Pillow Talk, watching the original influencers, vaudeville, is a must for me. Vaudeville is the main originator of these hilarious high-jink shows and a special one is back in town this month after a successful run last year. For one day only, Squirm Burpee is performing its “The Handsome Little Devils’ Squirm Burpee Circus” at On Stage at Kingsborough at Kingsborough Community College.
The circus trio consists of two twin brothers, Mike the Handsome and Dashing Dave and the Lovely Little Lolo as the ingenue. But when the dastardly Baron Vegan Von Hamburger – a mustachioed villain waiting in the wings, plots to destroy them- the audience is treated to wild scenarios and explosive fun! Keep your eyes peeled for the human Cannonball, Chainsaw Juggling, and the Ladder of Love.
Squirm Burpee will be performed on Saturday, November 19 at 10:30 AM at On Stage at Kingsborough at Kingsborough Community College. And everyone can meet the cast in the lobby after the performance.
The show is recommended for ages 4 and up.
