To Mothers Who Write: Get Out and Share Your Passion

“Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them, so go out and start creating.” – The Holstee Manifesto. This is your moment. Take your incredible experiences of being a mother and share your writing with other mothers. A new course at PowderKeg, a community of women writers in downtown Brooklyn, is beginning this month called “Mothers Who Write (and Eat)” . Thankfully, dinner will also be served so “When you eat, appreciate every last bite” (The Holstee Manifesto again…)

Have you been wanting to write about motherhood but unable to find the time? This workshop, co-taught by Jen Nails and Sharon Lerner at PowderKeg in Downtown Brooklyn, is for women who want to capture something about their experience of having children. Whether you’ve already started a memoir or just want to document some of the strange and wonderful stuff that happens between yourself and your kid(s), join us on Tuesdays to write, share, critique – and eat. Dinner will be served and is included in the cost! We’ll meet on 8 consecutive Tuesday nights from 6 – 9 pm, starting on January 31. (There will be no class on 2/21.) Each student will have a one-on-one meeting with either Jen or Sharon and the last session will be a performance/reading.
