Brooklyn Has its Own E-Waste Warehouse Now

Has your dead hard drive ceased its usefulness as a door stop? Now you no longer have to wait for E-Waste days, Brooklyn has its own E-Waste Warehouse where you can drop off your old computers, monitors, printers, scanners, routers, hard drives, circuit boards and more.

The Lower East Side Ecology Center has located its permanent e-waste collection center in Brooklyn. Bring your working and non-working electronics to the center for free as long as you are a New York resident, small businesses (max. 50 employees), and non-profit organization. If your equipment works, let them know and they will try to give it a second life. Whether your equipment gets reused or recycled, they guarantee data security. And you can get a tax-deduction for donating used equipment!

Is your child doing a recylcled art project or do you need a retro DC cord for your old Casio? Go on by the warehouse to peruse their selection of affordable electronic equipment and parts.

They accept the following working and non-working equipment: Click here for a list of accepted materials and answers to other Frequently Asked Questions. Home appliances such as microwaves, refrigerators, or air conditioners will not be accepted.

•    Telecommunication (phones, answering machines, etc.)

Please note: To recycle media, such as floppies, cd’s, zips, VHS tapes please recycle with Green Disk.  Donations of equipment are tax-deductible.
