Brooklyn Bridge Park just seems to get better and better- treat trucks, volleyball sand courts, super slides, the ferry and now…a POOL!
According to an article in the New York Post today the new pool will be added to the uplands section of Pier 2 in Brooklyn Heights beginning this summer. The 30-foot-by-50-foot temporary pool will be above ground, 3 ½-feet deep across, fully decked, and remain there five years.
It’s sad to hear that it won’t be a permanent pool but it’s a compromise, according to an inteview the NY Post did with state Sen. Daniel Squadron (D-Brooklyn). He “spearheaded a deal cut last summer that led to officials agreeing to bring a pool to the park — along with more high-rise housing.”
