Got a G&T Notice? Now What? 2 Events For You

Parents are receiving their child’s G&T scores this week, which means that some families are now looking at new options for their children.  If your child scored between the 90th and 96th Percentile, your child is eligible to apply to District Gifted & Talented programs. If your child scored at or above the 97th Percentile, your child is eligible to apply to the District AND Citywide Gifted & Talented programs. Which means that you may be wondering: which schools do you visit? how do you decide? what do the different schools offer and lots more. There are two events to help you answer some of those questions.

Citywide G&T schools are:

  • Brooklyn School of Inquiry
  • NEST +m
  • STEM
  • TAG
  • The Anderson School

PACE Forum
PACE (the Parents’ Alliance for Citywide Education),
a new group formed of parents of children at citywide G &T elementary schools, will hold a Forum titled “The Parents’ Perspective on Citywide G&T Education.”  There will be parent representatives from each of the five Citywide G & T elementary schools at the forum.  Current parents of Citywide G & T elementary students will share the unique aspects and challenges of their schools in the format of a panel discussion followed by a question and answer session.  The evening will be moderated by Robin Aronow, Ph.D, an independent consultant and founder of School Search NYC.   Admission is free and open to the public.
Details:

Tuesday, April 17, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, at PS 20 (166 Essex St. at Houston) in Manhattan.
