Wednesday and Thursdays Just Got a Whole Lot Better

Art Workshops via The Children's Museum of the Arts and the Hudson River Park River Trust

The middle of the week doldrums just got better this week since the Children’s Museum of the Arts, in partnership with the Hudson River Park Trust, started their Art Workshops for the summer. Every Wednesday and Thursday through August 30th, bring your kids to the Hudson River Park for free art making and art appreciation activities throughout the park.

Each workshops, for ages 1-15 years, will include one individual mixed media project and one larger-scale collaborative project, inspired by the unique waterfront environment. Some of the large- scale projects include an eco-art installation sculpture and a riverfront inspired animation project in conjunction with the park’s Science on the River Days, as well as screenings of CMA’s student-made films prior to the Friday Riverflicks for Kids series.

If you have never been to Hudson River Park– this is a lovely park that goes from way downtown (Battery Place) to midtown (59th Street). Lucky for us Brooklynites, the CMA workshops happen downtown at Hudson River Park’s Pier 25 (cross at N. Moore Street). There is a nice stretch of grass here and shaded eating area. You will see lots of bikinis and kite flying if the wind is just right. If you want to have an adventure for lunch, head to the Ear Inn. There are additional workshops that occur at Pier 84, 46, 82. All details are below.
