Events at Carroll Park Tomorrow and All Summer

Friends of Carroll Park is an amazing example of how a group of volunteers can turn a park into a true hub of cultural and community activity. Since 1975, they have been creating events for locals and this summer they have stocked the calendar with a variety of activities from the kids concert series to food drives.

Tommorrow have “Fun in the Sun” while introducing your kids to the importance of sunscreen (who doesn’t have problems getting their kids to wear it?!) and also teach children about charitable giving.

Don’t miss the very popular kids’ concert series this summer or a nighttime staging of Shakespeare by Smith Street Stage: this year the play will be Twelfth Night.

All the details are below:

Tomorrow: Thurs., June 14, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Fun in the sun – free sunscreen, free books, and food collection drive! Carroll Park will welcome volunteers participating in the Nielsen Global Impact Day on Thursday, when teams of employees will descend on the park in partnership with the Ray Festa Melanoma Foundation, distributing free sunscreen samples, skin cancer prevention info, plus activities and demos to help you Live SunSmart. Friends of Carroll Park will also be on hand all day with their Book Swap cart, distributing info on upcoming park events, and collecting non-perishables for City Harvest’s annual Feed the Kids food drive.
Location: In front of Robert Acito Park House
