Squibb Pedestrian Bridge: over Furman Street between Brooklyn Bridge Park and Squibb ParkA project of Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Department of Parks and Recreation
Who is excited about the Squibb Pedestrian Bridge? I can’t wait for it to be done to allow safer passage for those of us going from Columbia Heights to Brooklyn Bridge Park. Construction has begun and a couple of readers have wrote me to tell me they are also eagerly anticipating its debut!
Two nights ago, the Public Design Commission (PDC) gave one of the “Excellence in Design” awards to Squibb Pedestrian Bridge.
Apparently, the bridge will have “inset linear lighting and X-tend® mesh infill…. domestic hardwood timber decking, galvanized handrails,” according to PDC President Signe Nielson.
