Margaret Carnegie Playground at Cooper Park
The dusk hours can be sooo boring sometimes- bath, dinner, bedtime- blah blah blah! Consider Thursday your big mid-week break from the the doldrums and head over to the Cooper Park Playground Fundraiser for free ice cream, bouncy house fun, face painting, food trucks, great raffle prizes and a music performance by the fabulous, rocking Dirty Socks Funtime Band.

Cooper Park Playground Committee in Williamsburg have been working to raise money for a fence to enclose the playground areas at Cooper Park. Though Cooper Park will undergo a $2.4 Million Capital Improvement to relocate soccer play areas, create new basketball courts and other changes to the park, the children’s play area lacks a secure fence, which is not covered under the City’s Capital Plan.
The Open Space Alliance (OSA), a partner of the NYC Parks Department, has offered to match locally raised money to fence the playground. Thanks to the efforts of the Carrig Montessori School and St. Nicks Alliance, $3,500 has been raised to date. They need your help to meet our final goal of $11,000. All money raised from admissions and raffle ticket purchases will go directly towards the fund to create a safer play space for all families who use Cooper Park.
