Congregation Mount Sinai re-opened their playspace for the cold weather season this week. They had 15 parents and their kids show up on the first day and 8 the second one.
Mount Sinai is an Egalitarian synagogue that offers a large playspace in their sanctuary for Brooklyn families. The sanctuary is partitioned off for the kids and has both carpeting and hardwood floors. Children up to age 4 years have the use of the space and toys which include ride-on cars, dollhouses, play kitchen, tumbling toys, big foam blocks, trucks, trains and handheld toys. Apparently, the most popular items are the two ride-on cars which run up and down the sanctuary.
They provide water and pretzels for snack. There is a person supervising the playspace but caregivers are required to be present.
