Prospect Park is one of Brooklyn’s most wonderful places! I have so many fond memories here – my first run after having my children, birthday parties, sledding, the tot lot and playgrounds, walks with friends, Celebrate Brooklyn, the Brooklyn Half, kite flying, soccer classes, yoga in the park…
This Saturday, March 9th, 2013 the Prospect Park Alliance will honor its volunteers with a brunch at 11:30am at the Picnic House. These volunteers rake leaves, pick up trash, plant trees, assist visitors, and help maintain Brooklyn’s historic Prospect Park. After Hurricane Sandy, they were invaluable in getting the Park cleaned up. Brooklyn Borough President, Marty Markowitz, and senior NYC Parks & Recreation Officials will be on hand to thank the volunteers. Directions to the Picnic House: The Picnic House is located near the 3rd Street and Prospect Park West entrance to the Park. See our interactive map for more information.
And if you would like to get involved, the 2013 Volunteer Corps season starts on March 25th! Anyone can join the Prospect Park Volunteer Corps: individuals and families, students and retirees, friends and neighbors. Community and corporate groups are also encouraged to help the Park by joining the Volunteer Corps. For more information, visit us online at www.prospectpark.org/volunteers.
