As my son says, it will be “the greenest day ever!” The New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade is our country’s oldest and proudest Irish tradition, marching for the first time 250 years ago, on March 17, 1762 – fourteen years before the Declaration of Independence. This year, because March 17th falls on a Sunday, the parade will be held on March 16th. The Parade starts at 44th Street at 11:00 am and marches up Fifth Avenue past St. Patrick’s Cathedral at 50th Street all the way up past the American Irish Historical Society at 83rd and the Metropolitan Museum of Art at 83rd Street to 86th Street, where the parade finishes at around 4:30 – 5:00 pm.

Madison Square Art: Topsy Turvy at Madison Square Park (FLATIRON DISTRICT)
Topsy-Turvy: A Camera Obscura Installation by artists Sandra Gibson and Luis Recoder, will be on view from March 1 – April 5 while Madison Square Park is open. Topsy-Turvy will re-imagine one of the oldest moving image devices into a life-sized 10-foot by 10-foot structure. Gazillion Bubble Show at New World Stages Theater (MIDTOWN)
You’ve seen how your kids react to bubbles. Now, imagine how they would react to seeing people inside bubbles, or lasers shooting through bubbles, or bubbles within bubbles?!
