There are more than twice as many top-scoring tykes than there are seats in the five most selective citywide programs and the performance gap between rich and poor districts persists. Read more »
A look at the ‘gifted’ numbers:
Almost 14 percent of the rising kindergartners who tested this year qualified for citywide programs, as opposed to nearly 19 percent last year. More kids made the cut for district G&T programs, 18% of kindergartners who tested qualified, as opposed to 16 percent in 2012. Read more »
