Brooklyn Botanic Garden: Sakura Matsuri Festival April 27 & 28

The wonderful Sakura Matsuri Festival, celebrating traditional and contemporary Japanese culture, is happening this weekend at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.  Saturday April 27th and Sunday April 28th from 10am to 6pm. Buy your tickets in advance to skip the line (children under 12 are free!).

The Garden’s two day festival “features over 60 performances, demonstrations, and exhibits—many of which are specially commissioned for this dynamic festival—that showcase the best of traditional and contemporary Japanese culture. There will be workshops for children throughout the day.

The Prunus Kanzan trees on Cherry Esplanade have yet to flower but with high temperatures expected in the next few days they might be blooming for the weekend.
