Welcome Bizu Brooklyn, A New Online Children’s Clothing Consignment Store

We all want our kids to look great, to dress in a way that reflects our love and care for them.  Who doesn’t feel a sense of pride when their child is admired for their sharp style?  But, as adorable as children’s clothing can be, the truly desirable pieces can cost just as much as adult clothing.  Kids grow fast, and how can we justify buying the cutest, designer pieces if they will only fit for a few months? Introducing… Bizu Brooklyn, a high-end baby and maternity consignment store, where you can find that one-of-a-kind piece, including some of the most desired brands, without the expensive price tags. Owner Beza Blouin opened Bizu Brooklyn as a solution to the often frustrating, disorganized & crowded reality of other consignment experiences.

“I could find good deals at consignment stores,” says Blouin, “but it was always after committing to a long search for that needle in a haystack.  By the time I was able to dress my daughter, bribe her into her stroller & leave the apartment, all the good items had already sold.” she continues.

Blouin is a Brooklyn mom who loves buying clothes for her daughter even more than for herself.  When accepting new items to consign, she carefully inspects every piece for its state, brand and overall appeal before deciding to sell it, ensuring the quality of everything in her online-based consignment shop and delivering an anxiety-free shopping experience.  Bizu tells her consigners to expect items to sell within six months.  If she’s not able to sell items within that time period, Blouin either ships back the items at her own expense or arranges for the clothing to be donated to a charity.  The consigner decides up front how they want their unsold goods to be handled and Blouin takes care of the rest.

While working in a corporate job during the week, Blouin dedicates her weekends to managing the logistics of Bizu Brooklyn.  Her goal is to modernize the experience for the busy, fashionable & money-conscious mom.  The store name, “Bizu Brooklyn” is a nod to her family’s home in Williamsburg, their French/Ethiopian heritage, and the love they’ve experienced with their 2-year old daughter, Helina, who loves to dress up in the latest fashions.

Bizu Brooklyn collects pieces for consignment at various locations around the city and schedules pickups for anyone who has more than 10 items.  The next drop-off event, for consigners to bring their children’s outgrown clothes for consignment, will include a sing-along with Jennifer Justice, whose diverse background includes theater, comedy & dance, which has helped her keep her 10 month old son entertained since he was born.

Event details:  Saturday, May 4th, from 11am – 12:30pm at Mable’s Smokehouse & Banquet Hall, a baby friendly BBQ joint in North Williamsburg (44 Berry Street, on the corner of North 11th).  Bizu invites you to stop by and drop off your children’s gently worn clothing, sing along with Jennifer, and stay to lick some BBQ brunch off your fingers!
