A new business has popped up on Vanderbilt in Prospect Heights and I am beyond excited about this! It is called STOCKED and it serves (for take out or dine in) locally sourced meals – everything for breakfast, lunch, dinner and in-between. A lot of the options are perfect as pre-made dinners you can pick up and warm up for dinner at home. I love this alternative to my typical take-out and delivery go-to’s because the meals at Stocked are generally healthier, homemade and tastier!
I was able to stop in to meet the chefs and owners and hear all about their new business.
STOCKED partners Joanna Knollmueller and Matt Fulton have many years of experience working in high profile Manhattan restaurants. They met while working together at Union Square Cafe. Matt went on to work at the Culinary Institute of America in California before moving back here to become a private chef. And Joanna moved on to work at Craftbar and then became a private chef. And they’ve kept the chef gene running through the families. Matt met his wife, Lesley, who is a private chef now, working at Union Square Cafe and Joanna met her husband, PJ, also a private chef now, working at Craft.
STOCKED had an impressive line up of seasonal, health conscious, and delicious take-out. From egg sandwiches, freshly baked muffins, and morning coffee to thoughtfully prepared soups, salads, and sandwiches, STOCKED has you covered for breakfast and lunch. Or, stop in for items like a rotisserie roasted chicken and your choice of seasonal side dishes to bring home for dinner.
Think of it as homemade without the messy kitchen! Stocked will also offer a place to sit down and enjoy your food, connect to wifi, or relax while your young children play in a dedicated area.
The best part of this new Brooklyn business is it is optimal for fostering the spirit of the community Joanna and Matt love with events like children’s sign-a-longs, new-parent support groups, and small informational workshops.
Both Matt and Joanna are Prospect Heights residents with three little Brooklyn babies between them! This place is a wonderful addition to Vanderbilt Ave for parents and kids alike!
STOCKED is located at 635 Vanderbilt Avenue between St Marks Place and Prospect Place.
