I have been looking for a more engaging, creative movement class for my daughter. A class that will really tap into her imagination and encourage her to discover what talents she may have within herself…and I have found it! So, I am so excited to tell you about the new dance, drum and music home for Brooklyn kids – Cumbe!
Cumbe will introduce your child to the fun and high-energy world of dance and music whose roots reach back to Africa. They have classes for children ages 1-5 (from early walkers to children who love to run and jump) which introduce them to creative movement and rhythm through a combination of movement games, song, storytelling, drumming, and tumbling. Older children (ages 5-14) have their pick of styles: traditional dance and drum, hip hop, acrobatic dance, modern dance with an African diaspora flair, musical theater, and capoeira.
This place is amazing and has everything! They host unbelievable classes, camps and birthday parties! Your child is going to have a blast!
And their Fall registration is now open for their 2013-2014 Classes (for ages 1-14).
Best of all, if you register for their Fall 2013 classes by August 23 you will save 10% and you can try as many classes as you like for any amount during “Pay What You Wish” Week: September 9 – 15!
Cumbe’s new, light-filled dance studio, on Fulton Street right off Flatbush Avenue (near BAM and Barclays), is very easy to get to. And they even offer classes for adults too!
