The School at Dancewave, a wonderful dance center near Atlantic Center, is having their open house this week and offering free trial classes this week. They offer classes for all ages – as young as 18 months, there is a class to encourage children to express themselves though movement. The core of their program centers around the basics of ballet, modern dance, and creative movement.
What I love about these classes, is they are taught in a very inclusive, non-competitive environment by accomplished dance professionals. The 2-7 age group focuses on exploration of movement and the 7-13 age group classes, which they note is a transitional time crucial in the development of young dancers, prepares children to take the next step. After that, pre-teens and teenagers can participate in their Dancewave Companies.
