Did you see the snow and wow was it cold in the morning! It will be warmer this weekend so we are not starting winter yet!
So many fun events happening this weekend! In Manhattan we have the Three Bears Holiday Bash at Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre in Central Park and the 12th Annual Holiday Train Show at Grand Central. In Brooklyn we have the Opening Celebration for Pier 3 & 4 Uplands in Brooklyn Bridge Park and a free family show at the Central Library called the Super Sprowtz Show which sounds super fun!
Did you know that there are Stroller Tours once a month at the Whitney Museum of Art? You can visit the museum before it opens with your baby tomorrow!
Also going on this weekend we have Feet Don’t Fail Me Now, Mother Goose Tales with Goldilocks and The Three Bears, Kidrockers at Brooklyn Bowl and The Little Engine That Could Earns Her Whistle and much more!

Friday November 15th
Three Bears Holiday Bash at Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre (Central Park/UWS)
Fridays at 10:30AM and 12:00PM until December 27th (also other days of week/weekends – see website for more info. Tickets: $7/children & $10/adults.
The Three Bears Holiday Bash, is a variety show that celebrates the holiday season in song, dance, and puppetry. This production quickly becomes a comedy of errors when Baby Bear invites Santa to star in Mama and Papa
Bear’s annual holiday show. The audience also gets to join in on the fun with a “12 days of Christmas” sing-a-long during the performance!
Drawing from the stories of Hanukkah, the Night Before Christmas, and Kwanzaa, The Three Bears Holiday Bash is a great way to get into the holiday spirit!
Stroller Tours: American Legends From Calder to O’Keeffe at the Whitney Museum of Art (UES)
Friday November 15th 12n-1p. Stroller Tours For parents with babies 0–18 months. $35 per adult ($25 for Family Series members or Friend-level members and higher). Registration for this program is required. Register here.
Whitney Teaching Fellows, PhD candidates in art history, lead engaging tours of current exhibitions for new moms and dads when the Museum is closed to the public. Crying babies are welcome!
As part of this rotating exhibition, new works by artists including Georgia O’Keeffe and Arthur Dove have been installed in American Legends: From Calder to O’Keeffe. Come with your baby to see these works and more.
Pajama Glow-in-the-Dark Yoga! at Karma Kids Yoga (West Village)
Friday, November 15th, 6:30pm – 8:00pm. Ages 4 – 8. Fee is $25 per child. Call to reserve a space for your child.
Kids should wear their pajamas to this special Friday night class! We’ll take a fantastical yoga adventure, then a story and yummy smelling foot rubs. Milk and cookies will be served after the class, a high energy dance party to expel that energy, then sweet dreams to follow! What a great way to kick off the weekend!
Feet Don’t Fail Me Now! at The New Victory Theater (Times Square)

Rhythmic Circus from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Home-grown hoofers from Minneapolis hit the road with a trunk full of tap shoes, funky costumes and a big brass band, ready to burst onto the New Victory stage with FEET DON’T FAIL ME NOW! “Heatbox,” the human beat box, joins the swingin’ seven-piece Root City rockers to accompany each tap, shuffle and stomp with a clang, riff and refrain. It’s easy to see why this troupe was a 2012 winner of an Edinburgh Festival “Spirit of the Fringe” Award. In this joyous parade of genre-hopping music and hard-hitting percussive dance, you’ll be jumping out of your seat and moving to the beat! 60 minutes with no intermission.

Opening Celebration for Piers 3 & 4 Uplands (Brooklyn Bridge Park)
Saturday, November 16, 2013 10am-1pm
Come celebrate the opening of Piers 3 and 4 Uplands with music by the Hungry March Band, family-friendly activities and staff-led tours.
A short speaking program with local elected officials will begin at 10:30am. Festivities will end at 1:00pm.
Adding six new acres of parkland, the uplands of Piers 3 and 4 include the final connection of the parkwide greenway, incredible views of the New York Harbor and skyline, expansive lawns, a sweeping granite terrace, and the first of the park’s sound attenuating hills.
Please enter at Pier 5 and walk north or enter at Pier 1 and walk south past the Pier 2 Pop-Up Pool. Keep an eye out for the blue tents! We hope you can join us for this exciting event!

Super Sprowtz have performed for over 100,000 children and families at top venues including the White House, Lincoln Center for the Arts, Reebok’s Headquaters, Food & Wine Festival, Century 21 departement stores and the Bronx Zoo. BALLERINA SWAN, a 50-minute family show blending dance, theater and puppetry, tells the story of Sophie, a Central Park swan with dreams of becoming a ballerina and dancing in Swan Lake. Based on the children’s book BALLERINA SWAN by former NYC Ballet prima ballerina Allegra Kent, with illustrations by Caldecott Medal winner Emily Arnold McCully, the piece features three dancers and a dancer/puppeteer who operates a five-foot dancing swan puppet!

You’ve seen how your kids react to bubbles. Now, imagine how they would react to seeing people inside bubbles, or lasers shooting through bubbles, or bubbles within bubbles?! They will be enthralled…and so will you. I’m been to this twice because we love it so much. Awesome show and well worth the price and trip. The Gazillion Bubble Show in Manhattan, is all about bubble magic and everyone from David Letterman to Oprah thinks the show is pretty fantastic.
