Weekday Activities for March 3rd-6th in Brooklyn & NYC!

lakeside marchHi everyone,

March is here!  Less than three weeks until Spring!  I am hoping this next round of snow will be the last!  It does sound like it won’t be as bad as originally predicted (fingers crossed)!

There are only three Mondays of Free Kid Ice Skating at LeFrak Center at Lakeside left!  The ice rink is done for the season on March 23rd so if you haven’t checked it out yet make sure you do!  Also this week we have Masterpiece Mondays at The Jewish Museum, Stomp, Clap & Sing with Patricia Shih at the Brooklyn Central Public Library, an Elimination Communication Meetup at Caribou Baby, celebrate Good Deeds Day 2014 at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan and Brooklyn Balasana Storytime Yoga at Terrace Dance Studio.

Be sure to check the calendar for all the events and drop ins going on this week!  Please remember to check with the venue to see if there are any cancellations or schedule changes before you head out the door!  If you know of an event you can submit it to our calendar via this link.  Also  A Child Grows is on Facebook so like us for last minute events and news!

Have a great week!

Diaper Free in NY:  Elimination Communication Meetup at Caribou Baby (Greenpoint/Williamsburg)
Wednesday March 5th and repeats the first Wed of the Month, 10:15-12PM.  Free.
Do you practice Elimination Communication (aka Diaper Free)? Or have you been meaning to try it, or wondering what it’s all about? Please join our group of moms and babies for an EC meeting at Caribou Baby. Moms and dads, with or without babies, are welcome.  First, we will have an information session for families who are not familiar with EC and want to learn more about it. Then, the meetup will start afterwards and will be a chance for people to connect with families practicing EC currently.  EC refers to babies that go diaper free. This is done in several other countries and is based on the principal that babies as early as newborns actually are aware of and have the ability to control their “elimination.” You can read more about this here.  Please bring your own potty (if you’d like) and a towel or blanket to catch any spills. There will also be access to a restroom.
