UME UME Music + Arts, Bringing together Children & the Arts

piano vintage

Ume Ume is the Music and Arts space which opened earlier this year by brother and sister team Christos and Sotiria. Located in Park Slope on 3rd Street and 4th Avenue in their pristine and gorgeous light filled space, parents can choose from programs for children ages 6 months to 12 years old including a seasonal enrichment program of Music, Art, and Movement, Zumba Kids, and private violin and piano lessons.

Sotiria and Christos operate with a strong background from multiple degrees in Music, Business and Education, and are able to provide students with a balanced approach to children’s enrichment.

The Ume Ume 12-week enrichment program explores composers, musicians, and artists throughout history, as they hear stories, sing and play instruments, as well as create art works made famous by greats such as Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, Pablo Picasso, Monet, and even Andy Warhol, The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra! The theme for each semester is presented through story, and reinforced through music, art and movement for a multi-sensory experience.

The class options at Ume Ume are unique in that they are not just an art, music or dance class per se, they are a collaboration of both the arts and academics, allowing children to participate in the arts in a creative and learning environment.

**Weekly “Drop-In” classes are also available which include: Open Play, Story time, and Art classes.

Check out what one of a kind music and art experience Ume Ume has to offer for your child’s age group at their site: www.umeumearts.com. Or, reach out to them directly at info@umeumearts.com or 718-768-0800.

Ume Ume also hosts fun birthday parties as well as Summer and Winter Camps!
