Do you love your library? Nominate your library by writing a story explaining how your library helps you, your family and you community and the branch could win $20,000!
Nominations are open now until December 12th for The Charles H. Revson Foundation’s 2nd Annual NYC Neighborhood Library Awards.
There are a total of 207 libraries in NYC and each branch helps children, immigrants, seniors and more in their community. 2013 was the first year of the NYC Neighborhood Library Awards and over 4,300 nominations were sent in. You can read what New Yorkers from all five boroughs shared on what they love about their neighborhood libraries here. Click here for more information on the Award Guidelines.
Two of the five 2013 winners were Brooklyn libraries and they each won $10,000! The Winners last year were the Corona Library (Queens), Macon Library (Brooklyn), New Dorp Library (Staten Island), Seward Park Library (Manhattan) and Sheepshead Bay Library (Brooklyn).
The kids and I go to the library two or three times a week (or more) and when our branch was closed last year for repairs we realized how much we went and missed having a library so close. We will be nominating our branch ASAP! Libraries everywhere always need extra money and thanks for all they do for us!
Good luck!
