Gymnastics for Kids: Because Your Couch Can't Take Anymore

DSC09476

The Gym Park in Greenpoint

Yesterday I asked my daughter, “if you could do anything what would you do?” She said, “Jumping on my hands.” Then she tried to launch herself backward and ended up sprawled on our hallway rug, saying, “it’s tricky.” I discerned that what she wanted to do was a back hand spring. Tricky indeed. Apparently, it’s time for some gymnastics classes, ’cause mama don’t cartwheel no more. Here are some of the numerous choices for your future Olympian or my good-hearted artsy kid in need of some balance training. Pipe up if you have a favorite!
