Looking for a camp that offers structure, swimming and tons of outdoor play while following a progressive model that focuses on creativity and collaboration? The Bank Street Summer Camp is now being offered in Brooklyn!
Located on the campus of the Mary McDowell Upper School in Brooklyn Heights, the Bank Street Summer Camp is known for fostering emotional, physical and ethical growth within campers by using educational professionals to help campers develop their own personalities and individual voices through experiential education.
Like the School for Children on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, the Bank Street Summer Camp seeks to strengthen not only individuals, but the community and larger society as well, in which adults and children, in all their diversity, interact, and learn. By celebrating the individual child, Bank Street creates a positive camp culture and zest for living that encourages exploration and problem solving.
The Bank Street Summer Camp Brooklyn programs consist of seven groups for children between kindergarten and 6th grade. All programs follow the same progressive model as the Bank Street School for Children and Bank Street College of Education. Each group swims at least twice a week in small groups, at appropriate swim levels and with an emphasis on safety.
These programs are offered for the 5 weeks in July (6/29/15-7/31/15) as well as the first week in August (8/3/15-8/7/15). See here for details and rates: http://bankstreet.edu/summer-camp/brooklyn/
