It’s usually right around this time of year when even the most resolute Brooklynites catch themselves daydreaming about leaving the city. Whether it’s the weather, the process of applying to schools, or because you looked around your apartment and thought how nice it would be to have a back yard, a guest room, a play room, a toy-free room, etc. We’ve all been hearing about this mystical land in New Jersey called Maplewood that was recently described by the New York Times as “Brooklyn West.” Here is a word from New Jersey Realtor, Lisa Danbrot, a Brooklyn transplant who is now helping NYC families looking to make the big move:
As a native and long time resident of Brooklyn, I adore working with the population I feel most in tune with. The most common concern I hear from so many families who feel that a move out of the city might be imminent is that there is no life that could compare to a Brooklyn life. It is true, nothing compares with Brooklyn.
While I realize this might sound uncomfortably close to a rationalization, life with family changes and one’s needs can shift.
Fortunately the path from NYC and Bklyn to NJ, (yes, *that* place–the one that is so hard to reconcile moving to), has been forged by many others who’ve had the same concerns. And we are here enjoying it together!
