Well the big children are back in school tomorrow but there are still lots of fun events happening this week for the little kids!
This week you can check out a Teddy Bear Clinic at the South Street Seaport Community Cube, enjoy Little Scientists at the Carroll Gardens Brooklyn Public Library, go see a Magic Class at Pipsqueak Children’s Shoppe, Wiggle, Jump and Sing at Brooklyn Heights Public Library, Singalong with Katy Stone at OS Cafe and go see Puppetsburg at the Media Room at 80 Metropolitan Ave.
Other weekly events happening are Lavender Blues at Dimensions on Stage Dance Studio, a Puppet Sing-Along at Blue Marble Ice Cream and Music with Rob at The Stomping Ground!

Monday February 23rd
Community Cube: Teddy Bear Clinic at South Street Seaport
Mon Feb 23rd 10a-12n. Free. Location: 4 Fulton Street (next to the ice rink)
Join the NY-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital for a Teddy Bear Clinic at the Seaport Cube. We are super excited to invite Lower Manhattan children to donate a new toy (though not mandatory) for a local children’s charity. In exchange, they will be give a plush teddy bear from Dr. Listman, the head of the Pediatric ER unit at NY Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital. Children will have a chance to do some bandaging, heartbeat monitoring and try on lab coats at various stations at the Seaport Community Cube. Plus, stop by the face painting station as well as the temporary tattoo station for some extra fun. We are thrilled to welcome Green Mustache to the Cube for the first time. And, we are always happy to welcome Ruby’s Rockets, AquaBall and GoGo squeeZ to our indoor heated space.
Little Scientists at the Brooklyn Public Library (Carroll Gardens)

Does your little ones love exploring and ask you a lot of Why questions about the world around them. Say no more! Little Scientists is here to uncover discoveries. Here is a special Storytime where we learn about different aspect of science through stories, songs, crafts and activities. Limited Seating.
Monday Magic Class at Pipsqueak Children’s Shoppe (Bedford Stuyvesant)
Mon Feb 23rd 4p. $10/child drop in. For kids 6+. Teaches kids ages 6 and up how to impress their friends and family with amazing magic tricks. Children will learn how to float, make things disappear, and more while building self-confidence, team work, creativity and leadership skills along the way. Lavender Blues at Dimensions on Stage (Bay Ridge)
Wednesdays 10a. $10/drop in. Lavender Blues is an intimate music & movement session for babies and toddlers. During our 40 minute classes kids develop an understanding of rhythm and music, build awareness and control of their body as well as develop social and coordination skills—all while singing, dancing and having fun! We sit in a circle, sing songs, play instruments, have movement with our fingers, arms and feet, as well as march, dance, and play with a ginormous parachute!!
Puppet Sing-Along at Blue Marble Ice Cream(Prospect Heights)
Wednesdays at 1030-1115a. $7 per child. A Yellow Sneaker Sing-Along is a 45 minute interactive singalong with puppets and guitar, combining original songs, oldies, and traditional children’s music. Project ArtArt Workshops at Brooklyn Public Library (Cyrpress Hills)
Wednesdays 4-5p until April 22nd. Free. For ages 8-12y. Space is limited and preregistration is required. In this ten-session series, will work with a teaching artist to learn the basic elements of design in various media, including painting, collage and drawing. Students will be introduced to notable artists of the past and encourage to explore their own distinctive styles.The course will conclude with a professional show at a contemporary art gallery.

Puppetsburg Media Room at 80 Metropolitan Ave (Williamsburg)
Thursdays 10a. $25/drop in or $26.87 online (grown ups free). The BOUNCE JUMP SPRING Season. PUPPETSBURG does hipster, tattooed puppet shows for 0-4 year olds. The shows are 45 minutes long and involve dancing, instruments, and bubble time (!) followed by a puppet story that is different each week. Children get to know a cast of handmade puppet characters including Clementine, a hipster who always carries around a plush camera for “instagram-esque photos,” Piggy B, a pig with blue glasses and an “over-it” look on his face, and Rex, who’s favorite animal is a T-Rex like the one he wears on his shirt. Regularly exploring concepts like counting, simple vocabulary, hygiene, and hipster culture, Puppetsburg is a uniquely contemporary puppet show that is entertaining for infants, toddlers, and parents alike. Puppetsburg also offers exclusively-infant shows for the pre-walking crowd. A NEW SHOW EACH WEEK!!
Music with Rob at The Stomping Ground (Crown Heights)
Thursdays 330p. $5 members / $8 non-members.
Rob Morrison has loved music since he was a baby. He started out as a guitarist and keyboardist multiple bands and then more recently began performing for children. Rob plays a variety of material that appeals to newborns, toddlers and their adult caregivers. His sing-a-longs are fun and full of contagious energy! Expect to hear old favorites, new hits and unique orginal music and be prepared to have fun.
Black History Month: South African Storytelling and Mask Making at Park Slope Brooklyn Public Library
Thu 4-5p. Free. For ages 5+. Watch a performance of King Lion’s Gifts, Nelson Mandela’s favorite story, and then join us in making masks of the South African animals presented in the tale!

Playgroup at Bija Kids (Clinton Hill)
Mon-Thu now until May 29th 330-5p. For ages 0-3y. $15 first child/$7 additional child or 10 pack – $120 now $99** in February (single child pack) or $200 now $179** in February (family of 2 or more children pack). Take Refuge at Bija Playgroup When the Weather Turns! After a nap and lunch, but before bath and dinner, come to hang out and play with other 0-3 year olds at Bija. With parents or caregivers present, little ones explore puzzles, instruments, books, and plush toys in a warm, safe, and enriching environment. One our our dynamic teachers leads an enrichment activity each afternoon. Expect bubbles, parachute, paint, and more! Parents and caregivers must remain onsite.
WEE Arts Drop-in Session at the Children’s Museum of the Arts (South Village)
M-F 1045a-12p, $25 per family ($20 for members). Want to stay longer? General admission is just $6 per person after drop-in. Music time! Story time! Art time! Join CMA’s WEE teaching artists for an art-filled drop-in session before we open our doors to the public. Parent and/or caregivers are required to join and we encourage family collaboration throughout the class. No sign up required.
Jack and the Beanstalk at Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre (Central Park)

Based on the classic English fairytale, this fresh retelling of the Swedish Cottage original production takes Jack on an enchanting adventure up a magical beanstalk. In this starry new world, Jack encounters the notorious Giant, Milford, whose thieving ways have brought misfortune upon Jack and his mother. Determined to make life better for his family, Jack, with help from friends old and new, risks his life to take back what the Giant stole.
