Tuesday October 20th
Stomp, Clap & Sing with Moona Luna at the Central Brooklyn Public Library
Tuesday October 20th 11a-12n. Free. Location: Dweck Center. Moona Luna is the kindie group that the New York Daily News says is providing “the missing soundtrack for bilingual/bicultural kids.” After making a splash on the family music scene with their accordion-driven, Latin-inspired debut album, 2011’s Piñata Party, Moona Luna delivered something fresh in its sophomore album, 2013’s Vamos, Let’s Go! Songwriter and bandleader, Sandra Velasquez, found inspiration in American pop hits of the 50’s and 60’s, and staying true to her bilingual mission, crafted Spanish and English lyrics for each song. Having bilingual lyrics is just the icing on the cake because the tunes are so finger-snapping good and cater to extremely wide audience.
Hopalong Andrew Sing-a-long at SuperFrench Studio (Bedford Stuyvesant)
Tuesdays 11a-1145. $10/child. Hopalong Andrew’s sing-a-longs are geared towards all ages, singing the great folk songs, fireside ballads, and cowboy favorites of the silver screen. Think Roy Rogers meets Pete Seeger and Jesse Fuller – a 1-man band, with guitar, banjo, harmonica, and vintage Samsonite suitcase drum. He’ll get you to sing along, dance along, play along, and have an all-Americana good time.
Kids Yoga for 3-5y at Bend & Bloom Yoga (Park Slope)
Tuesdays 4-5p. $18 for a drop-in, $160 for a 10 class pack. Bend & Bloom’s imaginative yoga adventures and animated poses keep little yogis’ creativity and bodies flowing. Our silly yoga sequences enhance children’s concentration skills while refining their motor coordination. Bend & Bloom’s fun yoga games teach cooperative play and sharpen listening skills as your child transitions to school. Kids yoga will plant the seed for a life-long love of physical and mental well-being.
