For Parents This Weekend: Places To Avoid During SantaCon

If you’re going to be out with the kids this weekend, you’ll most likely want to avoid running into packs of drunken obnoxious “Santas” stumbling, yelling, and creating mayhem throughout Williamsburg and the East Village.  SantaCon organizers have released maps  detailing their whereabouts, in an effort to work with the NYPD and the Parks Department. In the past years, things have kind of gotten out of hand.

10 am: The event will kick off on Saturday in McCarren Park, in Greenpoint.

11am-4pm: Santas will be spilling into Verboten at 54 N. 11th St., Villan at 50 N. 3rd St., Viva Toro at 188 Berry St., and the Hall at 470 Driggs Ave.

1pm-7pm: The Lower East Side takes them in at The Delancey (168 Delancey St.).

3pm-7pm: They’re also welcome in the East Village at 230 Fifth (230 5th Ave.), Bar 13 (35 E. 13th St.), and Solas (232 E. 9th St.).

“Don’t be a bad Santa!” urged the 102nd precinct, which covers Richmond Hill, Queens, in a tweet Wednesday night.

You might want to show your kids the funny costumes and spectacle of it all though, which is pretty incredible. Just stay careful!
