The weather is getting colder and there are lots of indoor weekday events happening like Open Play at Monkey Do!, Spanish Sing-Along with Lucy Kalantari at Juguemos A Cantar, Build with LEGO and DUPLO at Kings Bay Brooklyn Public Library, Little Feet Wise Heart Story Yoga at Lark, Gateway Storytime in the Discovery Room at the American Museum of Natural History, Sing-along with Lloyd of Deedle Deedle Dees at Nunu Chocolates Cafe & Tap Room, Kids Tumble Yoga at Lucky Lotus Yoga, A Taste of Tinkergarten in Prospect Park and the 39th Annual Three Kings Day Parade at El Barrio.
There are still some ongoing holiday events you can check out in case you haven’t yet like the 14th Annual Holiday Train Show at Grand Central Terminal, Gingerbread Lane at New York Hall of Science, Holiday Train Show at The New York Botanical Garden and the last few days of the Big Apple Circus at Lincoln Center.

Monday January 4th
Open Play at Monkey Do! AM Session (Gowanus)
Monday 9-1130a. Drop in $10 Additional Sibling $6. Packages available also. Move and play! Make friends in space that’s perfect for little ones and toddlers to explore and climb. This free play time is designed to get parents, caregivers and the kids out of the house, connecting with each other and having fun! They can enjoy moving around in our kid-friendly environment, and weather permitting, the backyard too. There is also an afternoon session 12n-230p on Mondays. See website for all the information.
Gateway Storytime in the Discovery Room at the American Museum of Natural History (UWS)
Mondays until June 20th at 1015a & 1115a. Free with museum admission. Programs do not run on public school holidays so no sessions on 1/18, 2/8, 2/15. Age: 2 1/2 – 5y. Free passes for the 10:15 and 11:15 Gateway Storytime sessions are available the day of the program at the Discovery Room entrance on a first come, first served basis. On Monday mornings, children 2½ to 5 years of age are invited to join us for a story hour.
Little Feet Wise Heart Story Yoga at LARK (Flatbush/Prospect Park South)
Mondays 315-4p (and also Tuesdays 10a). This is a drop-in class. Great class for two years and up. $15/child and $10 for siblings. Wise Heart Story yoga! Combing the creative poses of yoga with our favorite books on movement, yoga, nature and animals, this class will have kids moving, Om-ing, and jumping between being entranced by the written word. Heart warming stories on life, love, family and sharing are interspersed with ringing the bells, blowing the pinwheels and learning the art of savasana enriched by books, books, books!

Tuesdays in January 10a. $10/per child, $2/per sibling (includes play space time). For 6m to 4y. Join Lucy in a fun sing along!
Sing-along with Lloyd of Deedle Deedle Dees at Nunu Chocolates Cafe & Tap Room (Park Slope)
Tuesdays 10a. $10 a family. Lloyd H. Miller is the leader of all those sing-a-longs, the founder of the Deedle Deedle Dees, a Brooklyn NY-based educational band, and the co-writer (along with saxophonist / composer Roy Nathanson) of Trashed Out, a multi-media musical. Join him Tuesdays at at Nunu Chocolates Cafe and Tap Room in Park Slope.
Build with LEGO and DUPLO at Kings Bay Brooklyn Public Library
Tuesdays in January 3-4p. Free. For children ages 3-12. Join us for our weekly LEGO club to meet other builders and make new friends. Come help us think up new things to build – towers, house, cities, vehicles, monsters? Collaborate with your friends and get creative. DUPLO bricks will be available for toddlers and preschoolers.

A Taste of Tinkergarten in Prospect Park
Wednesday January 6th 10-1115a. Free. Ages 18m-5y. Location: Third Street Entrance (Park Slope). Come join us for a sample of what Tinkergarten class is all about. You’ll get to experience the flow of a class and a sample of the fun learning activities we enjoy each week. Parents, join your child or send your child with another caregiver and learn more about the experience by email. There is an additional free trial on Thursday January 7th 10-1115a in Prospect Park. 39th Annual Three Kings Day Parade at El Barrio
Wednesday January 6th. Parade 11a-1230p. See website for information on all the events. Free. Our favorite time of the year is upon us! Enjoy live camels, colorful puppets, music, and dancing on this magical day. This year, we celebrate our youth and those who devote their lives to the social and economic well-being of young people. Parade route: The parade begins at 106th Street and Lexington Avenue and ends at 115th Street and Park Avenue. Families, community members, organizations, school groups, and local businesses are encouraged to participate. Early registration is strongly recommended. Big Apple Circus at Lincoln Center
Wednesday-Sunday January 6th-10th at various times. Last week! Tickets start at $25. For more information please see the website. Big Apple Circus returns to the Big Top at Lincoln Center for the company’s 38th season with the World Premiere of its all-new show, The Grand Tour! The Grand Tour transports audiences to the Roaring 1920s, the advent of the modern travel era, when the most adventuresome began to tour the world in ships, planes, trains, and automobiles. With every seat less than 50 feet from the stage, audiences will be awed by the world-class entertainers as they perform breathtaking acts from the four corners of the globe. Clowns, jugglers, acrobats, and aerialists from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North and South America appear with ponies, puppies and more; the troupe sets off on their own whirlwind adventure, accompanied by the live, seven-piece Big Apple Circus Band at each of more than 100 performances.

Imagination Adventure at Xtend Barre Studios (Brooklyn Heights)
Thursdays starting January 7th until March 24th (no class 2/18) 10-1055a. Ages 2.5 – 4y. $30/drop in or register for semester for $275. This is a drop off class. In this Treasure Trunk Theatre class, children will create and explore a dramatic adventure that begins with the opening of the treasure trunk. The contents of the trunk provide the spark that inspires a story that we will create that day using our voices, bodies, and imaginations. Children will learn how to band together as an ensemble as we play all of the parts in our session-long story. This class provides a great way for children to begin incorporating dramatic arts into story telling.
Kids Create: Pipecleaner Mobiles! at Brooklyn Heights Public Library
Thursday January 7th 4-5p. Free. We will be making cool pipecleaner mobiles that we can hang just about anywhere! Come and join us for some creative time at the library and meet other kids in the neighborhood.
Kids Tumble Yoga at Lucky Lotus Yoga (Fort Greene)
Starts Thursday January 7th 4-5pm $25 drop in, or sign up for 7 classes for $150— now until the end of February. No class during the President’s Break week). For ages 2–6y. Move your body make shapes explore stillness and breathe and develop coordination and focus.

Gingerbread Lane at New York Hall of Science (Flushing Meadows)
Ongoing until Saturday January 9th, 2016. Tuesday–Friday 930a–5p & Saturday & Sunday 10a–6p. Free with Museum admission. Marvel at homemade gingerbread houses made entirely of edible gingerbread, royal icing and candy. The houses are drafted, designed, baked, planned, built and decorated by chef Jon Lovitch over the course of an entire year. GingerBread Lane has won the Guinness World Record for the largest gingerbread village for 2013 and 2014 and will compete for its third consecutive Guinness World Record this year. Lovitch’s creation will again contend for this year’s Guinness World Record. The all-new 2015 version of GingerBread Lane will cover 500 square feet and will have more than 1,050 houses and structures including a double-decker carousel reminiscent of one on the Coney Island boardwalk in days past and the S.C. Kringle & Co. Department Store which hearkens back to Gimbels department store in the early 1900s. GingerBread Lane 2015 will also have new twists like The Pumpkin Spice Latte Coffee Shoppe, The EveryDay’s Thanksgiving Café, a second train (for the first time), and a 10-square-foot candy factory you can see inside of as you climb the stairs to view GingerBread Lane. While the exhibition’s layout and composition change yearly, GingerBread Lane always includes Eggnog Bay, Gum Drop Row, Peppermint Central Park, Candy Cane Place and Toffee Boulevard. As a grand finale, Lovitch will give away all houses on January 10.

Holiday Train Show at The New York Botanical Garden (Bronx)

14th Annual Holiday Train Show at Grand Central Terminal (Midtown East)
Ongoing until February 21st. M–F: 8a–8p, Saturday and Sunday: 10a–6p. Free. Location: NY Transit Museum Gallery Annex and Store Shuttle Passage. Presented annually by the New York Transit Museum, this popular model railroad exhibition features Metro-North, New York Central, and subway trains departing from a miniature Grand Central Terminal on a 34’-long, two-level “O” gauge layout. The Museum’s store and booth at the Holiday Fair also offer great gifts for your holiday shopping. Transit gifts are available online at www.nytransitmuseumstore.com.
