The really cool Tattly Tattoo Parlor has come to Brooklyn, in the space on Bergen Street in Boerum Hill that the Invisible Dog Art Center is at, right near Trader Joe’s.
There are some real fun ones that I think you and the kids will adore.
As their website states, “Taking aesthetic cues from the traditional gold glass-gilded signage and interior fit-out of classic tattoo parlors, we have added our own unique flair to the new space, with furnishings including a velvet loveseat, vintage-inspired barber’s chairs, and a sputnik chandelier. The walls of the Parlor are adorned with Tattly flash art and custom wallpaper featuring designs by Brooklyn-based hand-poke tattoo artist Tea Leigh and printed by Flavor Paper.”
Some of my personal faves are Color Burst by Jessi Arrington, Earth’s Layers by Wee Society, Lightning Bolts by Kate Bingaman-Burt, and Pegasus by Alyssa Nassner. Call the parlor’s number below to make sure they will have whatever you fall in love with on this site, OK?
I love the idea of this- especially as a special treat for your kid, or a cold weather party activity! For those parents concerned about teaching kids the love of tattooing too early, wouldn’t the fact that these are temporary be a good lesson?
Kid sessions for 5 tattoos are $25, and for 8 tattoos the price is $40.
