Best Hot Chocolate Places in Brooklyn

Jacques Torres Chocolate Dumbo. This qualifies as starting at the top. It’s a classic, and a pricey one for a reason. Man up and get the Wicked variety for you, the kids can sample all the other flavors.

The Chocolate Room Cobble Hill and Park Slope. Thank god for the mocha, we can’t all make it to bedtime on good will alone. And they have a classic hot milk chocolate so the kids won’t keep complaining that it’s “too spicy.”

Nunu Chocolates Boerum Hill. This is highly entertaining since you can watch them making chocolates. Drinks and a show.

Five Leaves Greenpoint. This is a take-out window only situation most times with kids, as the place is jam-packed and tables are tight with stylist young adults inside. But, if you happen to be walking by, or on the way to McCarren Park, this is the spot for the best hot chocolate!

Pie Corps Greenpoint. Such a charming, cute place with pie making classes to boot (sans kids)! Right next to McGorlick Park.

Cocoa Bar Park Slope. Because when your toddler spills the first cup all over the floor, they will take it in stride. Plus, they have dark, mint, white, cinnamon, spicy and Funky Monkey flavors. And wine. Let’s not forget the wine.

Blue Sky Bakery Park Slope. Really, the muffins are the main attraction here, but the place is too cute and has the requisite hot beverage.

Mast Brothers Chocolate Williamsburg. You know, ‘cause we’re cool and in Brooklyn. And because some day we will have enough of their wrappers to wall paper our bathroom. Dare to dream.

Ample Hills Creamery Prospect Heights. Yes, I know, it’s an ice cream parlor. But they have hot chocolate, plenty of seats and maybe a scoop of vanilla in said hot beverage is not such a bad idea. Also, isn’t the name a boob reference? If so, then I love this place even more. Or as a former nursing mother, am I just reading into it?

Toby’s Estate Williamsburg. It’s so huge and spacious in here, and it’s fun to sit on old burlap bags made into pillows.

Devocion Williamsburg. This is a fascinating place because there is an entire wall covered with hanging plants in the back of this gigantic loft-like space. Your kids will love it, and love the coffee roasting section in the front.

Stone Fruit Espresso Bed Stuy. Amazingly lit, airy atmosphere and smiles to be found here. Pleasant experience all around.

Dough Bed Stuy. Donuts and hot chocolate? Yes, please.

Jill Lindsey Fort Greene. This is a great place to sit and recharge your batteries, whilst gazing at some of the most beautiful clothing and home decor you will ever see. Your kids will love it too- there are textures, sweet tunes, lovely colors, and nice people all over the place.

Baked Red Hook. Is everything in Red Hook delicious?

Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain Carroll Gardens. Sit in the back to avoid the chill from the opening door, and to take advantage of the board games they have on hand. And with a full, yummy menu you might as well stay for dinner.

One Girl Cookies Cobble Hill. What resolution? What diet? This is not the diet you’re looking for, go about your business (eating handmade cookies and mainlining liquid chocolate), move along.
