When frost bite is in the cards, it’s attractive to head indoors and play. All of these places are socks only, and check their sites for really fun classes and afterschool programs (including school pick-ups) that are offered. Check out the memberships at each, they vary but can be worth getting if you are in the particular neighborhood often. Here’s a shortlist of the best spaces to play inside, in Brooklyn….

Recess– DUMBO

Drop-in passes are $30 a child and $20 for each additional child. The classes here are really great!

Twinkle– Williamsburg

Everyone’s first comment about this place is that it’s “really big.” It does seem to ‘have it all,’ and is a popular go-to. First-time passes are $25, and it’s $35 after that for one adult and one child.

Klub 4 Kidz– Williamsburg

This is one of the originals, and one of the most affordable. It’s time-tested and loved by many. Open play is $20 a child, and siblings under 1 year old are free. There is rock climbing here which is $10 per child on weekdays.

Play– Greenpoint

They are really sweet here, and the space is light, airy and artistic. The themed birthday parties are always a hit as well. Great classes and really worth looking into.  At $20 a child for drop-ins, and $10 a sibling, it’s realistic. They also offer a summer camp.

Curiosity On Court– Carroll Gardens

This place is really charming. They have a climbing wall, a baby area, a magnetic wall, a child’s idea of the subway area, and way more. Afterschool is available, and classes.

Mrs. J’s Gymnastics – Williamsburg

Popular for its gymnastics and dance training, this awesome place also has free play, camp, and afterschool programs as well. With professional, experienced gymnasts as instructors, their movement classes are a wonderful idea for building your child’s strength, coordination, and confidence.
