We know that, in our town, the day (and night) can take you just about anywhere. Although Brooklynites may completely love our neighborhoods and usual summer evening groove (Prospect Park), we wanted to share with you some upcoming options for fun cultural nightfall picnicking opportunities just over a little water and a bridge. SummerStage has been around for about 30 years, bringing amazing performances to 16 parks across all 5 boroughs. From dance, to theater, to music- you can see it all. This summer’s theme for SummerStage is jazz. Here are three performances out of many that we thought were particularly fun looking, in Manhattan and Queens. Take a look at their schedule and see what interests you, and try to go!
Wednesday, July 27th @ 7-10 PM in Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield
Complexions Ballet, Dance
Wednesday, July 27th @ 7 PM in Queensbridge Park
Dianne Reeves, Jazz Music
Friday, July 29th @7 PM in Queensbridge Park
Nuyorican poets’ Maria Lisella, Theatrical Poetry
We hope you are able to check at least one of these shows out this summer, and try to bring the kids! Let’s all take advantage of our amazing city and its artistic offerings…
