We do. That’s why we were really glad to learn about The Seasonal Food Guide and we knew we had to share it with all of you in Brooklyn, and beyond!

As we all know, not only are excellent nutrition and food choices good for one’s physical health, but they can obviously help students maintain a steady sense of focus while at school. It’s crucial that they understand why it’s integral to eat only healthy, sustainable, and local food- if possible.  That’s why we are sharing with you the Seasonal Food Guide– an easy-to-use online tool that helps people find out what produce is in season in their area throughout the year. It’s a great way for kids to find out when their favorite fruits or vegetables will be at their peak freshness, and when they will taste the best! It has easy and quick recipes and awesome fun facts that will aid in teaching kids the significance of what is in their food and its origin. Students might be surprised to know that the same figs in their newtons originated 11,000 years in Mesopotamia, or how to tell when a watermelon is perfectly ripe.
