We went to a really sweet event last weekend in Park Slope at Pink Olive, and were able to meet the coolest woman/mompreneur behind LuluLuvs: Lulu Gonzalez. She is an inspirational entrepreneur who took her Etsy store shop’s original offerings of gorgeous hand-knit items and expanded her creations into bows, which she now sells at various boutiques (world wide!). We like handmade things, and we love the fact that they are crafted locally and sourced from ethical companies. The adorable, completely hand-made wonders come in hair clip, headband, and bowtie fashions for both boys and girls to cherish. What makes them stand apart from all of the other accessories out there is that you can feel the craft and importance of each bow, and how special it is. Often crafted from Liberty of London, or special fabrics from Japan, the quality is formidable. Lulu was explaining that they are often given as birthday gifts, which adds to their importance in the eyes of the children receiving and wearing them. She enjoys the process of personally making each piece at a time. Originally from Singapore, Gonzalez came to New York for college at NYU, and wound up staying with the city she fell in love with. She adores Brooklyn, and is a proud parent of two here as well. This is her first year with both children at school during the days, and she is able to concentrate on LuluLuvs in an even more intense and attentive manner- lucky for all of us! Check out her wares:
